Being able to open paperboard packages precisely and quickly in the appropriate place without destroying the rest of the packaging or worse, the contents: tear strips make opening cardboard packaging considerably easier. At the same time, they make it possible to package items securely and firmly, because unlike perforations, tear strips do not compromise the stability of the box itself.

tesa® Tear Strips

tesa offers the corrugated cardboard industry a complete assortment of self-stick tear strips including three different adhesive strips developed especially for the packaging industry. All of the tear strips can be integrated into the production process without any problems and can be processed even at high run speeds.

The particularly robust tesa® 53497 tear strip allows users to tear open even thick cardboard packaging without any problems. A strong rubber adhesive ensures firm hold on all the usual kinds of corrugated and solid fiberboard. At the same time, tesa® 53497 can be unrolled particularly quietly. This reduces noise stress during processing. This high-performance tear strip was developed specifically for opening packaging made of corrugated cardboard and heavy-duty solid cardboard as well as express delivery envelopes.
tesa® 51235 excels due to its outstanding tearing performance at comparatively lower thicknesses. The special co-extruded MOPP backing protects the strip against damage and, at the same time, enables tearing at an angle. Based on the high bonding synthetic rubber adhesive, tesa® 51235 is superbly suited for use with medium to heavy solid cardboard as well as two-layer corrugated cardboard.

tesa® 4234 has a thin MOPP backing film which is very well able to resist greater tearing forces. In addition, the backing is especially resistant to shrinking and is robust when it comes to damage. This product is superbly suited for use with medium to heavy solid cardboard as well as one-layer corrugated cardboard.

tesa® 4235 is a highly shear resistant tear strip with a strong natural rubber adhesive. This product enables reliable tearing-open results with various cardboard and paperboard qualities. It has been specially designed for automatic processing at high speeds.
