F1 Racing Inspired Activities Set the Sales Agenda for tesa

tesa, a major adhesive tapes supplier, has recently rewarded its sales force with a day of on and off track motor sport themed activities at Silverstone, organised by Speedsport Promotions.

Specialising in driver management, race car preparation and corporate hospitality, Speedsport Promotions has had a business relationship with tesa for more than 15 years. During this period the company has successfully staged numerous motor sport orientated sponsorship and hospitality events for tesa. Speedsport is also the official supplier of tesa tapes to the motorsport industry from its base at Silverstone.

tesa sees motorsport as the ultimate embodiment of performance and success, qualities they associate with their own expertise in tape engineering and the tesacohesion® programme of customer service which embodies people, products, processes and performance.

tesa UK’s Managing Director, Steve Plastow comments “this initiative represents a significant step in recognising the important role our sales professionals play in generating added value from technical excellence while providing a route to business growth and success.

We’re focused on helping our customers to benefit from implementing profit-driven engineering solutions that enable them to achieve the best performance possible. In this sense there are strong synergies between what we do and the world of motor racing where the principles of agility, determination and expertise are required to compete and succeed at the highest level.”

During the day, the sales team spent time on the ‘izone’; Silverstone’s state-of-the-art driver training simulator. This was followed by a briefing on the importance of ‘being in the zone’ to be a successful racing driver and the synergies between this and ‘being in the zone’ for successful selling to customers.

The group also got the chance to drive supercars from prestigious marques including Ferrari and Aston Martin, on the famous Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit before having a high speed passenger ride in a Nissan GTR sports car with Callum MacLeod, one of Britain’s top young racing drivers.

“We’re making every effort to make tesa a true centre of excellence for our salespeople” adds Steve Plastow, “investing in training as part of the tesacohesion® programme is testament to our commitment to the long-term development of the company’s sales force as much as it is to the fact that we want to keep providing our customers with the best service possible.”
