Faster, cleaner flooring tapes for temporary and permanent installations

A new high performance ‘removable’ double sided floor laying tape targeted at the arts, entertainment, convention and exhibition flooring sectors has been launched by leading adhesive tape manufacturer tesa UK. Complemented by an upgraded ‘permanent’ fixture product that is easier to position, these cloth tape advancements increase flexibility and fixing options for laying carpets, wood and vinyl flooring.

Constructed with a tough PET cloth backing, tesa 4939 removable double sided adhesive tape has excellent adhesion to acrylic based floor sealing paint and can be used on chipboard and bitumen asphalt. It utilises a synthetic rubber based adhesive system that combines high initial bonding power to the flooring material with quick and easy removal once laid. Developed especially for temporary floor laying applications the tape allows residue-free removal up to 14 days after installation.

Supplied in white the 265µm thick tape can be torn by hand. Featuring long term temperature resistance of 40°C with 80°C short term endurance, tesa 4939 has good humidity and chemical resistance.

Cleaner, more efficient, long term, ‘permanent’, fixing of felt carpeting and vinyl flooring materials can be achieved with tesa 4934 double sided tape. This recently enhanced alternative to liquid glue incorporates a substantial coating of high tack synthetic rubber adhesive that provides immediate and secure bonding. Featuring a tough but flexible fabric backing the tape is proven to give years of service.

Presented in white, tesa 4934 has a thickness of 200µm and offers short term temperature resistance up to 60°C and 40° long term. Humidity performance is good. Designed for fast and reliable installations it requires no drying time, has no odour and can be easily torn by hand.

Roll lengths or 25m and widths of 38mm and 50mm are offered as standard for tesa 4939 while tesa 4934 is available in 25m rolls in widths of 25m, 38mm and 50mm.
