tesa EasySplice® Third Generation
The latest product evolution delivers even better performance before and during splicing

tesa EasySplice® Heatset Black
The name tesa EasySplice® has stood for efficient, fast, and secure splicing of roll ends in newspaper and magazine printing for nearly a decade now. The tesa EasySplice® product range is distinguished by its process-oriented, innovative adhesive solutions that are constantly being further developed. With the new generation of EasySplice® products, now the third of its kind, the products meet the highest quality standards on delicate paper surfaces whilst also accommodating the trend toward longer storage times for prepared rolls.
The highlight of the third generation is a newly developed acrylic adhesive mass applied to the tear strip. Its main features are shear resistance combined with strong initial tack. Both characteristics yield tangible benefits in production.
The new acrylic adhesive mass used in the EasySplice® product range has been able to show advantages in the longer storage times now used for pre-converted rolls. To drive down costs, tape is being applied to more and more rolls long before they are used on the printing press, and the rolls are then put into interim storage. It is a trend that entails certain risks. Fluctuations in ambient temperature and humidity can cause tension in the prepared paper rolls and even cause the tear strip to come off, especially on some more delicate types of paper if left in storage for a long time. This is where the new generation of tesa EasySplice® products really shows its strengths, as the adhesive bond remains constant and secure.
Another advantage is the highly improved initial tack. It enhances the reliability of the products when used at higher speeds, even when used on papers with surfaces which are not ideally suited to this application.
The new high-tech adhesive mass is now on the following tesa EasySplice® products: tesa® 51700 EasySplice® Newsprint – the standard product used for flying splices in newspaper printing; tesa® 51706 EasySplice® Newsprint Detect, with a built-in aluminum backing strip for secure splices, including pin-pointed waste copy control; tesa® 51800 EasySplice® Heatset for the extreme temperatures in the drying tunnel of heatset lines, and tesa® 51808 EasySplice® Heatset Black, with an integrated black backing that ensures dependable visual recognition of the splice over the entire width of the paper.
