Tips & tricks for lawn and garden enthusiasts

A perfect climate
A perfect climate
We all start out small: Tender young shoots need special protection. Plastic film above the freshly sown seeds prevents the soil from drying out too quickly and ensures that moisture levels remain constant.

tesa® extra Power
Putting it together
Along with a plastic or wooden fruit crate (from your local produce store), the only other things you need are wire netting or chicken wire from the lawn and garden store, plastic film, and transparent tesa® Extra Power.
Make a slight arch in the wire and cut it out using wire cutters, being sure that the piece will fit the exterior measurements of the fruit crate. Then make a border of tesa® Extra Power for the piece of wire mesh, with the adhesive side pointing inward.

Plastic cover
Transparency guaranteed
Finally, cut a piece of plastic film to size and stick it from the outer side onto the wire mesh or the tape. Press it into place. Arrange your seedlings, planted or sown in small pots or bowls, inside the crate and cover with the plastic “roof”.
Everything here is so lovely and green: The little flags provide dependable indications of what is growing where.

Parsley, squash, or marigolds? So that you can keep track of which plants are growing in which pots, it is recommended that you label them with little signs.

tesapack®
The sign workshop
Wooden skewers or toothpicks, tesapack®, construction paper, pens – and you’re ready to start on making your own signs: Unroll a bit of tesapack®, lay the sign and skewer carefully on top of the adhesive side, fold over and stick. Done!
Keeping it tidy
Where would we be if everything grew together willy-nilly? Small signs help gardeners keep their bearings. The plant’s name is often enough by itself, but pieces of the seed package are also helpful. Important: The signs have to be waterproof even under heavy watering.

A trio of helpers
Aphid killer or stinging nettle powder? So that you know exactly what solution each of your spray bottles contains, you should label them clearly – for example, using tesa® Extra Power Universal.

Clarity through and through
Spray bottles of all kinds can be marked or labeled easily with various colored tesa® adhesive tapes.
Tip:
Don’t forget the concentration you have used for each!

A colorful list
Flowerbed or vegetable patch: There’s nothing like homegrown pansies, squash, or cucumbers.
In the “nursery,” seedlings grow under a plastic cover marked with different colors, and all the important information is shown on the accompanying list.

Yellow, red, green… The list of plants is finished – including the planting date and space for additional comments.
