Outdoor Masking Tapes for Painting and Decorating

Masking tapes which are to be used outdoors have different demands placed on them both from the weather and sunlight (UV light), and it is critical they have a degree of resistance to both depending on the circumstances of use. For example, ask yourself what happens when you choose to use a general purpose masking tape for masking window frames and you left it on in direct sunlight for a day or so? If it came off cleanly without the paper tearing and leaving adhesive residues you were extremely lucky, but more often than not it will result in frustration and additional costly time to clean the glass and frame. Better then to use a masking tape which has had the adhesive modified to give it plenty of UV resistance!

tesa 4437 and tesa 4438 outdoor masking tapes both have excellent resistance to UV light, up to 6 weeks and 8 weeks respectively as well as both being compatible with water based paints and varnishes. tesa 4838 is a double sided masking tape which is suitable for use with water based acrylic paints.

All these tapes must be applied at temperatures of 5°C or above to ensure optimum performance.
