Sandblasting Masking Tapes

There are three tesa masking tapes for sandblasting. For heavy duty blasting there is tesa 4434 which has a very thick, yellow flatback paper backing and strong, aggressive adhesive giving a total thickness of 670µm (0.67mm). It was developed for manual cutting and is suitable for longer sandblasting periods especially on stone and metal and has very good durability (50 seconds at 4 bar). tesa 4432 is slightly thinner masking tape at 330µm (0.33mm) yet still has very high adhesion. It is ideal for masking during sandblasting on stone and glass and is available also with a red PP filmic liner as tesa 4443 for use with laser plotters to create stencils. It has a normal durability of 6 seconds at 4 bar. tesa 4423 is a low duty masking tape with the same durability as tesa 4432 although it is more suited to stencil work. It has a 145µm backing.
