tesa surface protection tapes are based on a protective film and designed to protect surfaces from damage for up to 9 months, depending on the application. We divide these into two categories: outdoor tapes and indoor tapes, although there is no reason why outdoor tapes may not be used indoors if their properties are a better fit to the application. However, the reverse may be more risky as we use rubber based adhesives for indoor surface protection tapes and they are much more susceptible to degradation from the effects of weathering and UV light.

tesa 50530, also known as “Bodyguard” and was primarily developed for the protection of freshly painted cars having passed stringent testing in Florida.
tesa 50550 is a glass protection film referred to as “Glassguard” and was developed originally for the protection of car windscreens during transportation overseas: the cars can be safely driven on and off ships and easily removed on arrival. tesa 4848 is a low tack protection tape for less demanding applications but is still UV resistant for up to 4 weeks.
