NVH - Noise Vibration Harshness

Low noise levels inside a car are essential and long term prevention of buzz, squeaks and rattles (BSR) is possible by using tesa tapes during assembly. We offer a wide range of adhesive tapes to combat unwanted noise, many of which have been developed in conjunction with our customers.

An example of when NVH tapes would be used is when components of different materials rub against each other. Tapes with anti-friction properties such as fleece tapes can be used as they have a dampening effect between such components.

Unwanted noise can also be reduced by both taping over the individual components and then fixing them firmly in place. Bodywork holes can be sealed to both suppress noise and prevent moisture ingress and for this tesa offers tape in specific die-cut shapes to aid application and reduce process time.
