How to work efficiently and achieve the best results at the same time.
When dispensing, the adhesive tape should not be stretched excessively; this helps prevent later bulging on the surface.

When dispensing, the adhesive tape should not be stretched excessively; this helps prevent later bulging on the surface.

Adhesive tapes must be used as intended. The respective adhesion conditions should be taken into account and the following factors kept in mind:

  • When unwinding, the adhesive tape should not be stretched excessively; this helps prevent later bulging on the surface.
  • The tape must be pressed firmly into place ensuring maximum surface contact in order to achieve a good bond. This also helps prevent paints and finishes from bleeding underneath the edge of the tape.
  • Tape should be removed after the work is completed. The amount of time that tape is left in place should be kept a minimum.
  • When removing adhesive tape, use a slow, controlled, even motion. Adhesive tape must not be pulled off the surface with a jerky motion.
  • Self-adhering surface protection films must be applied carefully so as not to trap any air bubbles.
  • Double adhesion
Double adhesion should be used in cases such as when:

  • The intended work requires an adhesive tape that is not suitable for the surface to be protected, e.g. plaster or stucco work involving adjacent delicate structures.
  • Mechanical strain is expected during the work.

  • Adhesion over full surfaces
Tape should be applied over the full surface if the substrate is expected to discolour differently. For example, the can be the case with metal surfaces.
