Tapes for Shop Fitting

Shop fitting these days is much more than just shops extending to any interior refurbishment. Consequently shop fitters require many more skills and a toolbox of resources to match. tesa has a range of adhesive tapes covering all applications a shop fitter will face – and probably some tapes they didn’t realise existed! All are there to make their life easier as clients demand increasingly higher standards of service.

Double sided tapes offer many advantages. For example, there is no need to drill holes, they provide an invisible bond with no screw heads or rivets on show and with a high immediate bond, substrates joined by double sided tapes can be moved around immediately without having to allow for curing. And of course they are easy and simple to apply!

For shop fitting there are 3 core types of double sided tapes. Double sided filmic tapes are ideal for bonding smooth surfaces and include tesa 4965, 51970 and 64621. Double sided foam tapes are for use on rough and uneven surfaces, consisting of tesa 4952, 4957 and 64958. Lastly double sided cloth tapes, tesa 4939 (removable) and 4934 (permanent), which are very conformable and ideal for bonding very rough surfaces such as carpet and fabrics.

From paper masking tapes for use during painting to localised large area protection during refurbishment. Our paper masking tapes include tesa 4323, a general purpose masking tape which offers residue free removability after up to 3 days use indoors, and tesa 4307 ‘Painters Tape’ which can be left on for up to 7 days indoors. tesa 4368 from our Easy Cover® range is a combination of paper masking tape and specially treated film to ensure it clings to substrates making it perfect for protection of large areas. Additionally tesa 4848 is a clear, adhesive protection film which is resistant to many chemicals and solvents and can be used on glass for up to 4 weeks with adhesive residue free removability.

For temporary repairs and fixing. These include tesa 4613 duct tape for general purpose repairs, tesa 4688 standard cloth tape with a higher tensile strength and which is also available in various colours. Additionally there is tesa 53948 certified PVC insulation tape, tesa 50565 Aluminium foil tape for HVAC applications and tesa 60100 Fibreglass joining tape which eliminates the need for putty and fillers permanently covering cracks in walls up to 3mm deep.

From anti-slip tape to lane marking tape, hazard warning tape and barrier tapes. tesa 60760 hazard warning and lane marking tape is available in yellow/black, red/white and various plain colours. For anti-slip on stair-noses and other areas where a safe footing is essential, tesa anti-slip tapes include a black tape (tesa 60950), yellow/black (tesa 60951), transparent (tesa 60952) and luminous (tesa 60953). These tapes retain their anti-slip properties for up to 2 years as well as being resistant to chemicals and solvents and offering residue-free removability. Finally, there is tesa 58137, a red/white non-adhesive barrier tape for temporary demarcation of hazardous areas.

A simple solution for bonding, cleaning and preparing. tesa 60021 provides a permanent bond to materials such as cardboard, wood, fabrics and many others. tesa 60023 is repositionable for temporary bonding of lightweight materials such as paper, cardboard and films and is easily removable with light spray to one side (permanent with heavy spray): it will also not permeate, stain or wrinkle the surface. Lastly, tesa 64000 is perfect for cleaning of surfaces for best bonding results with tapes or spray glues and evaporates without leaving residues.
