tesa Flexographic Printing
Critical Issuetesa Solution and Value
A flexo printer printing envelopes with long runs felt the quality could be improved. To stop the press in order to make adjustments due to the print quality and then remount was costly with downtime in the region of £100 per hour and remounting taking 10-15 minutes.Using tesa 52118 x-Soft our customer saw an immediate improvement in print quality and with the added benefit of a reduction in barring. Their productivity improved accordingly and with downtime costs due to unsatisfactory print quality effectively eliminated.
A flexo printer was experiencing severe barring on a medical packaging job. This not only incurred a cost due to the material wastage but also the significant cost of the downtime necessary to make the corrections. We recommended the use of tesa 52118 x-Soft. The very soft foam it has offered extra cushioning and reduced the effects of press ‘bounce’ which caused the barring. This has since allowed faster printing speeds as well as the desired reduction in waste.
